Tell Grant Hunter: Stop the mega AI data centres!

The Alberta government is allowing rich tech giants to build AI data centres in our backyard with zero regulations and consultations. If built, these AI data centres will drain our water supply and put more stress on our energy system, all while tech billionaires profit off our backs.

We can still stop this. The Minister of Environment and Protected Areas, Grant Hunter, can put a temporary pause on AI data centres. But he will only do it if all of us speak up. Send a message to Minister Hunter and your MLA now!

Upcoming Event: People vs Profit

How we win against the mega corporations destroying our province

Tech billionaires are building mega AI data centres across Alberta – with little consultation, oversight, accountability, and no clean up plan.

This is not new. Oil and gas giants sold Albertans the same broken deal. Now, they are leaving taxpayers with expensive abandoned wells, polluted water and air, and laying off workers while they make billions in profit.

It’s not too late to stop it. Come hear directly from landowners and frontline organizers and learn how we can fight back.

When: August 25, 2026 from 7:00 PM to  8:15 PM

This is a virtual event. You will receive the Zoom link after registering.

Volunteer for our Stop AI Data Centres Phonebank

Organizers in Olds have shown us what’s possible when people speak up: in response to huge backlash from Olds residents, the Alberta Utilities Commission rejected a massive AI data centre. But we can’t stop there; we are organizing Albertans to speak up for a province-wide moratorium and we need your help. We jump on the phones every Friday afternoon – join us! We provide training and support and it’s a great way to connect with other folks.
